Who is Spider-Man Noir

Spider-Man Noir debuted in Spider-Man Noir #1 (February 2009), written by David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico. The series reimagined Peter Parker in 1933 New York, bitten by a spider that emerged from a mystical idol smuggled by the Goblin's crime syndicate. This version of Peter is harder, angrier, and operates in a world without the moral certainties of the mainline Marvel Universe. Source: Marvel Comics official.

The key issues

Spider-Man Noir #1 (2009) — First appearance of Spider-Man Noir. The most important issue in the run from a collector standpoint. Nicolas Cage voiced this character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), which drove significant secondary market interest in this issue. The Amazon series is expected to generate a second wave of demand. Source: Key Collector Comics, CovrPrice.com.

Spider-Man Noir #1–4 (2009) — The complete original limited series. Available as a collected edition. In store now.

Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without a Face #1–4 (2010) — The direct sequel. Sets up the mythology that the Amazon series is expected to draw from. In store now.

The secondary market angle

Spider-Man Noir #1 (2009) saw significant price movement when Into the Spider-Verse was announced and again on release. The pattern for character-specific Amazon series adaptations has been consistent: pre-announcement copies trade at a discount; post-announcement copies trade at a premium. The announcement window is typically the best time to acquire key issues. Source: CovrPrice.com historical data.
