Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution — Chaos Rising is here: what's in the set and what to know

Mega Evolution — Chaos Rising, the fourth set in Pokémon's current Mega Evolution era, is now on our shelves — and it's delivering.

The headlining ex cards are Mega Greninja ex, Mega Floette ex, Mega Pyroar ex, and Mega Dragalge ex — each with full-art treatments and distinct competitive mechanics. The Illustration Rares in this set have drawn significant collector attention, particularly the Mega Greninja IR, which has quickly become one of the most sought-after individual cards of the year.

What's available

We have Elite Trainer Boxes (9 boosters plus full set accessories), Booster Bundles (6 packs), and individual booster packs available in store and at superheroempire.com.

Competitive notes

Mega Greninja ex introduces a water-type disruption mechanic that tournament players are actively building around — expect it to appear in regional results over the coming months as players refine their lists. Mega Floette ex sits more comfortably in the collector tier but opens up interesting combo lines for players willing to experiment with Fairy-type energy interactions.

What's coming next

Mega Evolution — Pitch Black arrives July 17, featuring Mega Darkrai ex alongside Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex. Pre-release events run July 4–12 — we'll have Build and Battle boxes available in store during that weekend.

The major event on the horizon is the Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary Celebration Set, arriving September 18. This is an all-foil special set with six-card packs, a brand-new rarity type, and the first-ever worldwide simultaneous launch in the game's history. Nine generation-specific sets follow in October — one per generation, covering every era from Kanto through Paldea. We'll have more details as the release gets closer.
