The MCU's Multiverse Saga is heading into its final stretch. Here's where things stand heading into Phase 6, and how to catch up before Avengers: Doomsday.
Phase 6, in release order
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 2025) — opens Phase 6, introduces the First Family into the MCU proper.
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 2026) — the fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man film.
- Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) — Robert Downey Jr. returns, not as Iron Man but as the new villain, Doctor Doom. The Russo Brothers return to direct.
- Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027) — the culmination of the entire Multiverse Saga, one year almost to the day after Doomsday.
Notably, there's a long gap with no MCU theatrical releases between Fantastic Four and Brand New Day — the studio's biggest gap between films since the pandemic-era stretch between Spider-Man: Far From Home and Black Widow.
Alongside it: the Disney+ side
- Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, with Season 3 targeting 2027
- VisionQuest (October 14, 2026) — Paul Bettany's Vision, joined by James Spader's Ultron
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 (2026)
- X-Men '97 Season 3 (2027)
What we still don't know
Avengers: Doomsday's full cast is still being pieced together by fans and press — which Fox-era X-Men actors return, whether Hugh Jackman's Wolverine appears, and what role Chris Evans' Steve Rogers plays are all things we'll only fully know at release. Sony's Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (June 2027) is worth knowing about too, but it sits outside MCU continuity in Sony's separate animated Spider-Verse.
Read alongside it
Doctor Doom's comic-page history in the classic Secret Wars storyline is the most direct point of reference for where Phase 6 is heading — worth having on the shelf as customers ask what to read before Doomsday and Secret Wars hit theaters.
