Vampyrates! #1 from BOOM! Studios is in store Wednesday July 8 with a Key Collector Comics key flag and 20 variants — the second-highest single-issue variant count on the July 8 NCBD list behind only Absolute Batman #22. The KCC key flag
Key Collector Comics has flagged Vampyrates! #1 as a key issue for NCBD July 8 2026. The specific key details are on the KCC issue page for subscribers. A KCC-flagged BOOM! Studios debut with 20 variants is a combination that consistently produces secondary market activity in week one. Source: Key Collector Comics.
Why BOOM! Studios first issues matter
BOOM! Studios has a strong track record of first issues that move on the secondary market when KCC flags them at launch. The combination of a creator-owned or licensed property debut, a KCC key flag, and a high variant count — all three present here — has historically produced meaningful price premiums on raw copies within the first two weeks of release. 20 variants
20 variants is a significant count for a debut issue from an independent publisher. High variant counts signal that the publisher anticipates strong demand from multiple collecting communities. Collectors who want all 20 should order in depth tonight — FOC closes at 10:00 pm ET. Source: Key Collector Comics.
