New comics land Wednesday, September 16 — a huge week for DC's Absolute line, a new X-Men event from Marvel, and a very unlikely Hanna-Barbera crossover. Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow's Hand #1 (DC)
Written by Che Grayson with art by Matias Bergara, this spinoff from the red-hot Absolute Catwoman line traces the origin of the League of Assassins-trained killer — and introduces three new Absolute-continuity character debuts along the way. It was one of the week's most previewed books across the comics press (Bleeding Cool, AIPT, Comics Beat) and one of the most-viewed issues on League of Comic Geeks.
Absolute Green Arrow #5 (of 6) (DC)
Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque send Black Canary and the Green Arrow Killer face-to-face with Hector Hammond's horrors. This issue topped League of Comic Geeks' Most Pulled chart for release week, posting the strongest raw view and pull counts of any book on the shelf Wednesday.
Avengers: Armageddon #4 (Marvel)
Chip Zdarsky's event reaches comicsheatingup.net's Pick of the Week for a reveal that's been the talk of the direct market: David Colton becomes Marvel's answer to Miracleman, directly setting up Zdarsky's own Avengers #1 this November. Coverage rolled in from ComicBookCo, Bleeding Cool, and CBR alike.

Jed MacKay and Federico Vicentini kick off "the X-Virus" as the X-Men and Xavier's 3K collide — a new X-Men event launch backed by one of the deepest variant programs of the fall. Flagged by Marvel.com, Key Collector Comics, and Bleeding Cool's advance preview alike.
Detective Comics #1113 (DC)
Tom Taylor and guest artist Jeff Spokes continue Batman's journey through the "Bad Seeds" event. Dan Mora's card stock variant was singled out by Comics Heating Up as their "For the Cover" pick this week, citing his fast-growing fanbase.
