New comics land Wednesday, October 21 — and this week it's the Absolute Universe's turn to headline, with Wally West and Green Arrow both hitting milestone issues, a new Punisher one-shot event kicking off, and two horror launches drawing serious buzz. Here's what's worth watching.
This Week's Highlights
Absolute Flash #20 (DC Comics)
Meet the Absolute Atom. After his near-death experience in Iron Heights, Wally West is pulled into Ray Palmer's subatomic realm in writer Jeff Lemire and artist Haining's pick of the week — one of the most acclaimed runs in DC's Absolute Universe line.
Absolute Green Arrow #6 (of 12) (DC Comics)
Extended for six more issues and building toward a bloody finale, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Solomon Grundy, and Hector Hammond collide in Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque's latest Absolute Universe hit.
Amazing Spider-Man: Halloween Special #1 (Marvel)
Happy Spider-Ween! Hallows' Eve tries to pull off her biggest heist yet in this one-and-done — which also debuts a new Spider-Man costume, giving first-appearance variant hunters a reason to pay attention.

Shop NowPunisher Showdowns: Black Widow #1 (Marvel)
The first chapter of a three-part Punisher Showdowns event (Wolverine and Winter Soldier follow) rides Frank Castle's high-profile comeback. Greg Land's main cover leads the charge, with a striking Mark Bagley variant also on shelves.
It Demands Sacrifice #1 (Bad Idea Comics)
Philip Gelatt and David Yarovesky's horror launch continues to ship strong, with Adam Pollina's glow-in-the-dark cover landing fresh on shelves this week — one of the buzziest horror debuts of the fall.
Filthy Lambs #1 (of 5) (Mad Cave Studios)
A new five-issue horror series from Pallie Paul Allor and Chris Evenhuis follows a family bound by blood sacrifice — and the demon that watches over them. Early buzz on this one is building fast.
Batman #14 — Halloween Glow-in-the-Dark Variant (DC Comics)
Matt Fraction and Matteo Scalera turn up the heat on "Bad Seeds" with the coldest villain in Gotham. Dan Quintana's glow-in-the-dark Halloween cover is this week's standout chase variant — several of Quintana's other planned glow-in-the-dark covers for this arc were reportedly cancelled, leaving this one as the sole Quintana GITD cover still shipping, which has made it one of the week's hottest pulls.
