New comics land Wednesday, August 26 — about 95 releases this week, led by Image (18), DC (13), and Marvel (13). Here's what's worth a look.
Amazing Spider-Man #35
The countdown is on: this is the last issue before Amazing Spider-Man #1000. Damage Control comes with a cost this time around, and Spidey gets tested in a way he isn't ready for — by Ghost-Spider. If you're planning to stock up ahead of the #1000 milestone, this is the issue to have people talking about it.
Absolute Catwoman #3 (of 6)
"Old Crew, New Problems" — Selina Kyle's life keeps falling apart as members of her old crew, the Calicos, crash back into her plans. Scott Snyder and Che Grayson write, Bengal draws and covers, with card stock variants from Kyuyong Eom, Mahmud Asrar, and Chuma Hill.

Also on the shelf this week
- Tomb of Apocalypse #1 — a promising new Marvel launch featuring Apocalypse, Wolverine, and Jubilee.
- Absolute Martian Manhunter — another entry expanding the Absolute Universe line.
What to watch
Neither Marvel nor DC has a major collected-edition push this specific week — the trade paperback and graphic novel spotlight shifts toward manga, indie publishers, and larger back-catalog collections instead. Worth a full wall photo rather than a single spotlight.
