New comics land Wednesday, August 19 — roughly 88 releases this week, led by Image, Marvel, and DC. Here's what's worth a look.
Bug Wars: The Coming of Wardoom #1
Jason Aaron & Mahmud Asrar (the creative team behind Bug Wars' earlier chapters) return with a new chapter following a coalition of insect warriors defending their woodland realm from a terrifying threat. Aaron and Asrar's last few Image collaborations have moved fast off the shelf.
Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #4
The tie-in series to the recently released Spider-Man: Brand New Day film continues, with a Marvel Studios movie variant cover in the mix. If customers coming off the movie are looking for more, this is the easiest on-ramp.
Catch up with issue #3 (Rachael Stott variant)
Also on the shelf this week
- Punisher vs. Spider-Man #2
- Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft #1 (of 4) — a new horror-tinged D&D limited series
- G.I. Joe #25
What to watch
A deep Image week alongside solid Marvel and DC output — worth a full wall photo rather than a single spotlight this time around.
