Absolute Green Lantern #15 — Al Ewing takes Jo Mullein to the edge of the universe and beyond

Al Ewing doesn't write small stories. Since taking over Absolute Green Lantern, he has been steadily building a cosmic narrative that operates on a genuinely vast scale — and issue #15 is where that scale becomes undeniable.

Jo Mullein has been traveling deep into space. What she's found isn't answers — it's an intergalactic war she didn't know existed, with Earth caught somewhere in the middle. Issue #15 is the chapter where the full shape of that conflict starts to come clear, and where Jo has to decide what she's willing to do to protect home.

Why this run matters

Absolute Green Lantern has been one of the more ambitious books in the Absolute Universe. Where some of the other titles have focused on street-level reinvention, Ewing has been operating in deep space with the confidence of someone who knows exactly where he's going.

Jo Mullein is one of the best characters DC has developed in the past decade — first introduced in N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell's Far Sector, and now given the full Absolute treatment. If you're not reading this book, you're missing one of the clearest examples of what the Absolute Universe can do when it's firing properly.

Issue #15 carries a 4.1 rating on League of Comic Geeks with 21,929 readers pulling it. That's a consistent, engaged audience — not a spike driven by hype.

A note for new readers

If you haven't read Far Sector — the original Jo Mullein story by N.K. Jemisin — it's well worth tracking down before or after reading this run. We have copies in store. It's one of the best Green Lantern stories in years and provides rich context for everything Ewing is building on.
